Register today! Join us in our mission to shatter the stigma of mental health and addiction challenges through the power of story at this year’s Celebrate the Light Gala!

Walk up the grand staircase and get ready to celebrate life worth living amid the vivid backdrop of countries, cultures and world wonders at the Milwaukee Public Museum. Chat with friends under a 36-foot long Humpback whale, explore diversity of life as you browse the silent auction, savor an appetizer in front of the butterfly garden and even give a toast to Milwaukee’s beloved gorilla, Samson.

After the dinner and program, hop aboard a life-size streetcar that will transport you on a journey back in time to Milwaukee’s yesteryear. Enjoy dessert, coffee or an evening beverage as you and your friends stroll down the gaslit lanes of the newly re-imagined interactive Streets of Old Milwaukee before the evening concludes.

No need to submit your order in advance! Your entree selection will be taken at your table the night of the event. We ask, however, that you require special dietary needs, please email Laura Miller prior to the night of the event.

New! Jean and Gems Attire

We invite guests to take part in our “Jeans and Gems” attire. Ladies, think jewel-studded jeans along with a fun top, or go with a cocktail dress or gown. Whatever you choose, dazzle it up with sparkling gems. This year’s featured gem is the ruby. Gentlemen, think dress jeans with a sport coat, or go upscale with a suit or tuxedo.

Social Hour in the Streets of Old Milwaukee

Following the program, enjoy dessert, coffee or an evening beverage with friends in the newly reimagined Streets of Old Milwaukee. Transport yourself back in time to a fall evening in Milwaukee at the turn of the 19th century as you socialize and stroll the gaslit walkways of the Streets.

Featured Presentation – “Shatter the Stigma”

Rogers InHealth creates, implements and promotes resources that incorporates stories of lived experiences to decrease stigma in communities, families and individuals living with mental illness. Research has shown one of the most effective ways to reduce stigma associated with mental health disease and addictions is to share stories about treatment and recovery.

At this year’s Gala, guests will hear first-hand stories from past patients and community members of how they have experienced stigma in their lives and what they are doing to combat this issue, both personally and publicly. The prevalence of mental health and addiction challenges makes it likely that we will be confronted by stigma at some point in our lives. Join us in our mission to promote the inclusion of all who are faced with challenges, and how the power of story creates strength and support.

Complimentary parking is available in the MacArthur Square parking garage off of James Lovell Street. You will receive a parking voucher at registration.

Year of the Ruby

This year’s color theme features the ruby. Some people claim that the ruby promotes a clear mind, increased concentration and motivation, while legend says that it has the ability to release destructive emotional holds and is a powerful stone for developing a more loving attitude toward oneself. Others believe that it signifies light to the darkness of one’s life and helps overcome mental overload, offering support during times of stress or when there is a lengthy sojourn before having the opportunity to rest.
