Thanks for the memories…
After 22 years, the final ball has been putted at the Rogers Golf Classic. Our sincere thanks to all who have supported us in this fun and fruitful event over the years. The sun may have set on the course, but the need for support of Rogers Behavioral Health remains for the over 17,000 patients that entrust us with their care on an annual basis. Start a new round of play by switching your support to one of our other events:
- Women’s Gathering is on the third Tuesday of May and benefits the Spiritual Care program at Rogers
- Celebrate the Light Gala takes place in November and benefits Patient Care Grants
You may want to get involved by hosting a holiday drive to provide our patients in treatment over the holidays with gifts to brighten their days, or hold an event of your own with Rogers Behavioral Health as the beneficiary of your fundraising or, Give for a Better Day by donating NOW. Call or send an email, and we will be happy to help you stay involved in your commitment to making Life.Worth.Living!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s event! Thanks to your support, more than $113,000 in free treatment will be given to patients in need through our Patient Care Grant program! Truly, your support saves lives!
Supporters of Rogers Memorial Foundation began arriving at The Legend at Bristlecone throughout the mid-morning in good spirits looking forward to a great day on the golf course with clear skies and bright warm sun awaiting them at every hole. After registering, golfers made their way out to the driving range and practice green to hone their skills before the round and mingle with their foursome before heading out onto the course.
When golfing commenced, players enjoyed perfect conditions on the pristine course while also learning about the Rogers Behavioral Health mission. Thanks to our “mission moment” volunteers positioned at select holes, players were able to learn more about a variety of therapies offered at Rogers in an interactive and beneficial way: therapy dogs were onsite to reduce anxiety before teeing off on the next hole, art therapy offered golfers the chance to get in touch with their emotions by drawing how they were feeling at the moment, and teams were guided through stretching and mindfulness exercises as they awaited their next shot.
Once the round concluded, golfers congregated in the bar for happy hour, swapping stories from the day. Dinner soon followed, and then it was time to present awards to the top scoring teams, along with the winners of the hole events. The program was highlighted by Margaret Pofahl, a social worker at Rogers Memorial Hospital, and Kristy, our mission moment speaker. Kristy inspired attendees with her story of courage and strength as she faced her fears throughout her treatment process.
