mackenzie-2Dear Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation,

In June of 2014 I received a Patient Care Grant of 14 days to finish my treatment in the FOCUS program. I wish I could express how grateful I am for the opportunity to stay at Rogers and continue my treatment after my insurance cut my stay short.

Before I came to Rogers I was struggling with bipolar and anxiety disorders and had no desire or motivation to live. I believed that happiness was a myth. After years of struggle, my outside therapist suggested Rogers because she heard of the new FOCUS program and thought it would be a good fit for me. I honestly do not know what I would have done without FOCUS. My quality of life was at its lowest point and I was missing out on young adulthood.

At FOCUS my team was able to find a better medication regimen for me and my therapist and behavioral specialist worked to improve my mood and anxiety, providing me with skills that I can use for the rest of my life. After six weeks at Rogers I was ready to face life again. Currently I am finishing the last two classes of my bachelor’s degree and am planning on going to nursing school next year.

While life is not perfect, I can honestly say that I am happy. I cannot thank Rogers Memorial Hospital, Rogers Memorial Hospital Foundation, and donors enough. Rogers and my Patient Care Grant saved my life and truly gave me a life worth living!

Sincerely,
Mackenzie
